UTANA Hybrid Seminar ”The Business of Being an Author”

Join us for a hybrid discussion about the ‘’The business of being an Author’’.

The event will focus on global trends and developments in authorship, as well as provide tools for facing the challenges caused by COVID-19. Maggie Gee (United Kingdom), Novelist and Professor of Creative Writing at Bath Spa University, will speak on the panel alongside Prof. Elly Nyambobo Sabiti (Uganda) of Busitema University, Deputy Head Teacher Emmanuel Otim (Uganda), and Commissioner Jonathan Kamwaana (Uganda).

Twenty primary and secondary school teachers-cum-authors who form UTANA’s interest group will be physically present for the talk.

The event will be held online via Zoom on Friday 26th November at 11:00-13:30 (EAT) – 08:00-10:30 (GMT).

This event is in partnership with the Uganda Textbook-Academic and Non-Fiction Authors’ Association (UTANA), the International Authors Forum (IAF), the Norwegian Association of Non-Fiction and Translators (NFFO), and the Ugandan Ministry of Education and Sports.

Prof. Elisam Magara, UTANA Chair, will be hosting this event.
