IAF writes to Indian Government supporting copyright society

The International Authors’ Forum (IAF) has written to the Indian Government to back the establishment of the Screenwriters Rights Association of India (SRAI).

IAF has expressed its support for the application of SRAI to be admitted as a copyright society by the Indian Government. Collective management and administration of authors’ rights is the only way many authors can receive fair payment for the use of their work. It is vital that a country’s government supports these endeavours so that local creators and creative industries are fostered.

IAF has offered to assist the Indian Government and SRAI with any further issues in the establishment of this copyright society.
